Members of the International Organisation for
Standardisation (ISO) have recently approved the release of a new
international standard for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse
gas emissions. ISO 14064, a specification with guidance, is in three
parts. part deals withthe quantification and reporting of GHG emission
inventories. Part 2 deals with the quantification and reporting of emissions
removals - addressed 'projects', and Part 3 with the validation of project
proposals and the verification of emissions and removal inventories. A
complementary standard, ISO 14065, is being drafted to assist with the accreditation
